Man posing as police officer arrested after kidnapping two

Toluca, State of Mexico — A subject posing as a Toluca police officer has been arrested after a search of his home located stolen items allegedly taken from his victims. The Attorney General of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) says that Diego N was taken into their custody after the February 2020 kidnapping and subsequent personal robbery of two people.

The Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM) says Diego N, along with five others, posed as police officers, removing two people from their home, one of whom was a minor, and forcing them to hand over bank cards and security codes.

Elements of the Operational Tactical Group detained Diego N during a search of a home in the Salvador Sánchez Colín neighborhood. The group are also alleged to have stolen personal valuables including a vehicle.

Their investigation identified Diego N as a participant in the events, for which an arrest warrant was issued and a search carried out in the house he lived in.
