Monterrey, Nuevo León — A young female lynx was rescued by environmental officials in the city of Monterrey after a citizen complaint.
The Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection reports rescuing the lynx in the city of Monterrey after it was found to be in the illegal possession of a person. Inspectors of the federal delegation in Nuevo León went to a home where they found the tiny cat.
Officials transferred the small feline to the facilities of Star Biopark of the UMA Operadora de Parques Estrella located in the municipality of Montemorelos. She will remain there for proper food, shelter and medical care.
Environmental officials reiterates its commitment to care for and preserve wildlife in Nuevo León and say they appreciate the collaboration of public and private institutions that contribute to the wildlife rescue protocol.
