Tulum, Q.R. — A television camera crew made a visit to Tulum’s Sac Actun underground river system for a special filming of an upcoming episode on Xploration Awesome Planet.
The grandson of legendary Jacques Cousteau, Phillipe Cousteau Jr., made a special visit to Nohoch Nah Chich (Giant bird house) cenote where he was accompanied by expert divers and a television crew.
Cousteau, along with his crew including a water cameraman, ventured into the cenote to explore and video the unique environment. Cameras captured the entire dive, which will be part of an upcoming episode in October.
“It’s been a shocking experience. I always wanted to see a cenote and to have the opportunity to explore this has been incredible. The beauty of this place and the water is truly amazing. I am very grateful for this opportunity to see places like this,” Cousteau said.
Xploration Awesome Planet (September 13, 2014–present) is a television series hosted by Phillipe Cousteau Jr., that features a detailed look at earth science and geology.
