Cancun, Q.R. — Xcaret Experiencias says that over the next several years, the company will continue to expand, adding another 12 hotels to the Cancun, Riviera Maya region.
The general director of Experiencias Xcaret, Marcos Constandse says, “We are talking about an investment of $2 billion USD, which will be developed over the next eight years in a phased process.”
The 12 hotels, he says, would add another 6,000 rooms to the region and include a large convention center and stadium for 12,000.
The planned hotels are part of the company’s Xcaret Hotel expansion project. Aside from a large convention center and stadium, the project will also include Pueblo de Río commercial plaza, which will be surrounded by a 2-kilometer river.
“We are creating a new tourism genre, we are not making hotels, we are doing what we are calling the all fun inclusive,” explained Constandse.
