Cancun, Q.R. — Volaris airline has announced new direct flights from San Salvador to Cancun which will begin in time for spring break.
As of March 29, the low-cost airline will offer flights from the El Salvador International Airport to Cancun International. The company says they will offer the new flights three times a week, one of which will be a night-flight.
Passengers wanting to take advantage of the direct San Salvador to Cancun flights will be able to do so on Sunday and Wednesday mornings, or they can opt for the Thursday night flight.
The new route expands the connectivity offered from El Salvador which hopes to boost tourism from Central America to the famous Mexican Caribbean beaches.
This is the third direct route the company offers from Central America to Cancun. In 2016, Volaris began operations from Guatemala and San José to Cancun.
CEO of Volaris Costa Rica, Fernando Naranjo said, “We are happy to offer more Central Americans the option of traveling directly from San Salvador to Cancun and also to expand connectivity from San José to reach the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean via San Salvador.”
Last year, Volaris was listed as one of the most punctual airlines in the world. According to OAG, an air travel intelligence company based in United Kingdom, Volaris ranked 12th out of 20 must punctual positions.
