Viva Aerobus connecting Cozumel with direct Mexico City, Monterrey flights

Cozumel, Q.R. — Viva Aerobus has launched a new Cozumel-Monterrey route with another from Mexico City to follow for the summer season. The airline says their Cozumel-Monterrey flights will start July 2 with direct island flights from Mexico City beginning July 5.

Darío Flota Ocampo, General Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council says the flights will be a success and contribute to the island’s economic recovery process.

The Monterrey route will land on the island Mondays and Fridays until August 13. On July 5, when the Mexico City route begins, the airline will land daily.

“We warmly welcome Viva Aerobus. Their arrival with competitive rates opens the doors for more people to visit us and enjoy its iconic beaches,” said Pedro Hermosillo López, Director of Tourism and Economic Development of Cozumel.

Juan Pablo Müdespacher Blasco, president of the Cozumel Hotel Association said that the new Viva Aerobus flights will contribute to a much-needed boost to island tourism.

“Our visitors can be sure that we work on the professionalization of our services to receive them with all the security measures so that they can enjoy their holidays with full confidence,” he added.

Walfred Castro, director of Corporate Communication of Viva Aerobus said “these new routes will facilitate the plans of our passengers by connecting this important destination with two of the largest cities in the country. We help to promote the exchange of visitors, commerce and businesses with low prices through a modern fleet and strict health protocols.”

The flights will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft which are part of the company’s youngest fleet.
