Cancun, Q.R. — Viva Aerobus announces a new direct route that will join Cancun and Camagüey, Cuba twice per week.
Viva Aerobus strengthens its air connectivity between Mexico and Cuba with a new offer of charter flights in partnership with tour operators and travel agencies.
The new service will cover the Cancun-Camagüey route and will start operations on winter high season on December 1st. The company will begin to offer two weekly flights that will be available Tuesdays and Saturdays.
“We continue to expand our offer in a diversified manner to serve all types of passengers. We arrived in Cuba to strengthen its accessibility with more flight options as one of the youngest fleets in the world,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, Managing Director of Viva Aerobus.
With these new flights, the airline strengthens its presence in Cancun, one of its five operating bases in Mexico.
Now, Viva Aerobus will have 21 routes from Cuba’s largest city of Camagüey. The new route will accommodate travelers from other cities around Mexico interested in visiting the tourist sites of central and eastern Cuba such as Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Holguín, Guardalavaca, Santa Lucia and Santiago de Cuba.
Juan Carlos Zuazua says that the company has increased its number of seats to and from Cancun by 16 percent during the first eight months of this year, adding that they have also seen a rise in Cuban passengers into Cancun.
“This is the result of commitment to one of the main tourist destinations in Mexico, being an important entrance to the country internationally. This announcement represents another step forward in the expansion strategy of Viva Aerobus, which aims to meet the needs of all types of passengers with a quality service and confidence at the best price,” he explained.
This year alone, he says the company has announced 18 new flights and will have inaugurated 23 routes by the end of the year.
