Tulum, Q.R. — Víctor Mas Tah has been officially announced as the new mayor-elect for the municipality of Tulum.
As part of the results of the official July 8 count by the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo, Mas Tah came away with more than 8,000 votes. He will head the municipality when the current administration term ends on the evening of September 29.
The new mayor-elect is from the Por Quintana Roo al Frente coalition. After receiving his official certificate naming him next mayor, he addressed a message of thanks to the people who were waiting outside the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo.
“I want to thank all the people who trusted me to lead this project which has not yet finished, but is just beginning.” He added that during his administration, “All Tulum residents will be treated with equality. There will be no privileges for anyone.”
