Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Scattered thunderstorms mixed with hot temperatures are in store for Playa del Carmen and most of Riviera Maya.
Meteorological information from the National Meteorological Service describes the entry of Tropical Maritime Air with moderate moisture content from the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico toward the Yucatan Peninsula is maintained. This air is causing very hot and sultry temperatures in the day and hot at night, cloudiness and rain with scattered showers accompanied by isolated electrical activity in the state of Quintana Roo.
For the municipalities of Benito Juarez (Cancun), Puerto Morelos and Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen and Tulum), the weather forecast for today is partly cloudy to cloudy skies and scattered showers accompanied by isolated electrical activity. Daytime temperatures remain very hot with east and southeast wind from 15 to 25 kph, with occasional 45 km / hr. wind gusts.
Today, expect maximum temperatures to range between 34C and 36C with minimum temperatures of 25C to 27C.
Meteorologist Jamie Villasno warns of possible storm areas around the state where thunderstorms, wind gusts or squalls may occur.
