U.S. Consular announces resumption of Cancun, Playa del Carmen office services

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The United States Consular in Merida has announced a partial reopening of their Cancun and Playa del Carmen offices. As of January 4, 2021, both cities will resume operations three days per week.

The news was made official by the Consular Agency in Merida who announced the partial reopening on social media starting early in the new year. The Consular notes that appointments can be made by phone from Mexico 999 316 7168 or from the US (1) 844 528 6611.

“We are pleased to announce that the Cancun and Playa del Carmen Consular Agencies in Quintana Roo are now resuming routine operations three days a week starting January 4, 2021.”

On March 18, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City and all U.S. consulates general in Mexico suspended routine consular and visa services due to COVID-19.
