Tulum, Q.R. — Two women were killed in a fatal car accident after the vehicle they were in went off the road.
Early reports say the accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. Monday approximately 15 kilometers before Tulum when a car suddenly left the highway, rolled and landed in roadside brush.
The accident was reported to the C-4 command center where police and ambulances were requested. Firefighters arrived on scene, headed by commander James Bracamonte.
According to a preliminary report, the man driving the car lost control after a tire exploded, causing the vehicle to overturn. Two women inside the car died on scene. One of the women was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.
Municipal police, firemen, federal police and Civil Protection of Tulum along with paramedics attended the accident. The driver of the car, 25-year-old Ángel Francisco González, received minor injuries as did passenger Lore Leydi Morales Crisanto.
The two deceased have not been identified.
