Two vehicle crash outside Puerto Morelos caused electrical lines to lower onto highway

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A two vehicle crash along the Puerto Morelos highway left one lane closed when power lines collapsed making contact with the roadway.

A long line of traffic resulted from the closure of the federal highway outside Puerto Morelos when two vehicles collided. One of the vehicles careened off the road and into a power pole that partially tumbled, lowering the electric lines onto the asphalt across one lane.

Preliminary reports say that a van ran up onto the highway median, causing a second vehicle to leave the roadway and hit the pole. The highway was partially closed while CFE personnel tended to the straightening of the pole and proper realignment of the electrical wires.
