Two Tabasco youths detained after attempting to rob Playa del Carmen combi

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two youths accused of attempting to rob a Playa del Carmen combi were arrested Friday. Police located the pair of would-be robbers inside an eatery in La Guadalupana in the city’s far northwest.

The arrests were made after the driver of the public transport van reported the attempted heist at gunpoint.

Preliminary information indicates that the alleged criminals intercepted the public transport van in a motorcycle taxi, however, the driver confronted them, at which time they fled. The driver of the unit then followed them to the eatery where they attempted to take refuge.

After a call to 911, police arrived at the eatery and arrested the two youths. Transferred to a Playa del Carmen jail cell was 25-year-old José Guadalupe VH and 18-year-old Isidro H, both from Tabasco.
