Cancun, Q.R. — Two mason workers were shot and killed while on the job site in Cancun Monday.
Municipal police and paramedics arrived to the new Cielo Nuevo subdivision in Region 249 of Cancun Monday morning to investigate the shooting of two men.
The shooting occurred at 10:00 a.m. when other on site workers say three men entered the construction area and targeted two of their coworkers. Other workers were instructed to move the bodies from the construction building where they lay deceased to a green area.
The head of security hired by the real estate firm CADU, ordered workers to haul the bodies to a green area. Workers managed to move only one of the bodies before calling emergency services, which reportedly occurred 30 minutes after the shooting.
Workers said that instead of immediately calling the police, the head of security tried to hide the shooting by altering the crime scene.
The General Prosecutor’s Office of the State say they will continue to investigate the events that took place on Monday morning, where both the real estate company and the security company could be held responsible for altering a crime scene.
