Mahahual, Q.R. — Two men were rescued by the Mexican Navy in waters off Mahahual Tuesday after their kayak began to sink.
The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico reported rescuing an adult male and a minor male Tuesday after naval personnel aboard a Defender-type vessel noticed that two men were signaling for help.
They say that the two men were adrift in a kayak near the Fisherman’s Wharf of Mahahual where it began sinking.
Personnel assigned to the Naval Search Station, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance sent rescue swimmers to the men, who were safely transported back to the harbor while their kayak was towed to the Fisherman’s Wharf of Mahahual.
Once they reached land, the pair were reported to be in good health.
