Two killed after being thrown from car in highway accident

Chumpón, Q.R. — Two people were killed after being thrown from their vehicle in a highway accident. Monday. Police in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, the municipality south of Tulum, arrived at the scene of the highway accident where they found two bodies.

The driver of the car was heading south toward Chumpón when he lost control of the Toyota Corolla approximately three kilometers from the town. First responders from Tulum located the U.S.-plated car overturned in highway brush after crashing into a mound of rocks.

Neither of the two from inside the car were wearing seat belts. The car they were driving had plates from the state of Massachusetts. The two deceased are both Mexican nationals.
