Two found carrying large amounts of cash arrested at Isla Mujeres ferry terminal

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico reports that infantry personnel, in coordination with government authorities, arrested two subjects in the Maritime Terminal of Isla Mujeres for carrying a large amount of cash.

La Secretaría de Marina-Armada de México says they arrested two male subjects, one of Mexican nationality and the other of Colombian, who were found in possession of cash for which they could not prove legal origin.

The detainees, who have not been identified, were also found in possession of (un)official apocryphal identification.

In a statement, the federal agency established that when naval personnel were making routine terminal inspections, they came across the two men who were carrying cash and false identification.

Personnel of the State Attorney General’s Office and Ministerial Police proceeded to detain them, making them available to the Public Ministry of the common jurisdiction.
