Two female bodies found in Cancun in 24 hours

Cancun, Q.R. — Over the last 24 hours, the bodies of two women have been discovered in different areas of Cancun.

The first woman was discovered Monday in a green area of SM 252 in Vista Real subdivision of Cancun. According to preliminary information, the body of an unidentified woman in a state of putrefaction was called in.

Municipal and ministerial police arrived to carry out the corresponding investigations while officials from the Forensic Medical Service also arrived to remove the body for autopsy.

A second woman was found early Tuesday morning after Emergency 911 received a call at 1:30 a.m. from nearby neighbors in the vicinity of the colony El Pedregal in Cancun.

When police arrived, they found a woman laying face down on a dirt road. An ambulance was requested to officially determine vital signs, however, she was pronounced by emergency personnel who found she had a gunshot wound to her head.

That woman has since been identified as Josefa de Jesús.
