Two federal agents kidnapped by gang they were working against found dead

Xalisco, Nayarit — The two federal agents captured by gang leaders they were working against have been found dead.

The bodies of the two men were located in Xalisco, Nayarit and confirmed by Attorney General’s Office that they were of the agents who disappeared on February 5. The bodies were sent to forensics for identification by the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) ) and the General Coordination of Expert Services.

They confirmed that the two agents, who were allegedly kidnapped by the criminal organization Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación and who had been forced to appear in a video incriminating the Secretary of the Interior of operations, were murdered.

Through a statement the PGR reported that the bodies have been delivered to relatives who have been accompanied by specialists in psychology.

“The Attorney General of the Republic regrets and condemns this terrible fact and expresses its solidarity with the feelings of families,” he says.

The two agents, who were working against narcotic drug gangs, were kidnapped February 5 while on leave from work. They were on their way to a family event when the kidnapping occurred. Two days later the agents were seen in a video with the captures behind them.

The PGR, in coordination with other security institutions of the Government of the Republic, continues to look for the perpetrators responsible for the death of their agents.
