Two end up in Cancun hospital after shooter accidently shot by his own partner

Cancun, Q.R. — A man who was part of a team of two attempting to execute another man outside his home ended up hospitalized after being shot by his partner. The shooting happened around 10:30 Thursday night when the man, who arrived aboard a taxi, was shooting at another man outside his home in the Haciendas Real del Caribe area of Cancun.

The man being shot at, 29-year-old Julio N, began to run which is when the taxi driver got out of his car and also began firing. Instead of hitting his target, he shot his accomplice in the head.

The taxi driver loaded his injured partner into his cab and dropped him off at the General Hospital before fleeing. The injured shooter, identified as Sebastián N, was operated on as soon as he was admitted. There is no word on his current condition.

Family members of Julio N made a report to emergency services who sent an ambulance to the home to transport the man to hospital for leg injuries. Police are said to have collected 20 shell casings at the scene. Police continue to investigate.
