Two detained for Playa del Carmen murder

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad police officers have arrested two men alleged responsible for the murder of a male who was shot and killed hours earlier in Playa del Carmen.

The arrests took place after witnesses provided both 911 emergency personnel and police with descriptions of the men and their getaway vehicle, including the number of the license plate. Police were quick to respond to the report, arresting the pair on the federal highway heading toward Cancun.

They were taken into police custody for their alleged involvement in the shooting death of 27-year-old Rubén Morales from Guerrero. Morales was shot and killed inside a mechanic shop located on 70th Avenue in the Ejidal neighborhood earlier that same day.

Taken into custody were 32-year-old Jesus N of Chiapas and 19-year-old Francisco Javier N of Quintana Roo. They were identified by witnesses of the deadly shooting.
