Two Colombians carrying drugs arrested at Cancun airport

Cancun, Q.R. — Two Colombian nationals were arrested at the Cancun International Airport Wednesday after being found carrying drugs.

The pair underwent a routine inspection at the airport when elements of the Anti-Drug Division located ketamine hydrochloride.

The couple were detained in Terminal 2 of the Cancun International Airport when officers inspected what they said was irregular-looking luggage. Inside, they found a bag of the substance.

Arrested were John Walther N and Katerin N of Colombian nationality who had arrived on an LATAM flight. Both were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.

Ketamine, sold under the brand name Ketalar among others, is a medication mainly used for starting and maintaining anesthesia, however, in the illegal market it is used for its hallucinogenic effects and is sold as Special-K.
