Tulum, Q.R. — Police in the municipality of Tulum have arrested two men carrying drugs and weapons after being stopped for driving recklessly.
On Saturday, state police were surveying the federal highway when they saw a Ford with two people inside, driving recklessly. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver accelerated and ignored the request.
After a second request, the driver did finally pull over. Police say they immediately noticed the driver was under the influence of drugs which led to an inspection of the car.
Inside, police found a black suitcase with 100 bags of crack cocaine along with two guns and cartridges. His passenger, identified only by his initials, was found carrying nine bags of crack cocaine and one firearm.
Both men were arrested and handed over to the State Attorney General along with the bags of drugs and weapons.
