Two arrested after drive by shooting of Cancun taxi driver

Cancun, Q.R. — Two men were arrested by Cancun police after allegedly being involved in the shooting of two others. The pair were taken into custody Tuesday after police began a search for them using information provided by witnesses.

Witnesses told police that the two men, one of which was a taxi driver, were shot at by a pair traveling on a red motorcycle. The two men were standing next to the taxi unit on Palma Robellini Street when they were shot at.

Both men were hit. One received a bullet wound to his arm while the other was shot in the abdomen. They were transferred to Cancun hospital for treatment.

After the 6:30 p.m. shooting, police began a search for those responsible. They located the red motorcycle and its two passengers on Arco Vial in SM 252, several blocks from the scene of the shootings.
