The Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station of the Ninth Naval Zone of Yucalpetén were sent out to sea to locate the boat and rescue its crew.

Reports say the boat had mechanical failure in the engine and became stranded near Arrecife Alacranes.

The Mexican navy located the boat and crew and returned them safely to the mainland along with their boat. A waiting ambulance took them to local hospital for a heath status review.
