Tulum police investigate million peso payroll robbery

Tulum, Q.R. — Police in Tulum continue to investigate a payroll robbery of at least a million peso. The robbery was reported Wednesday afternoon by a payroll company who said five armed men entered the branch and demanded their cash.

Company staff were allegedly threatened by the armed group who, once given the money, fled in one of their company vehicles. The payroll agency inside Plaza Andadores reported the loss of at least one million peso.

Police located the stolen vehicle a short distance from the plaza, but arrests have not been announced.
