Tulum, Q.R. — A new director of public safety has been appointed for the municipality of Tululm.
Daniel Hernández Gutiérrez has been appointed General Director of Public Safety and Municipal Transit in Tulum. During the city hall session, Hernández Gutiérrez swore his oath, promising to work for the safety of the population of Tulum.
Hernández Gutiérrez was chosen by Tulum city hall members for his experience in public safety. Hernández Gutiérrez was a public servant in matters of security in the states of Morelos and Baja California.
He has replaced Juan Antonio Uscanga Cano, who will continue in the operational area of the General Directorate of Public Safety and Traffic.
Tulum mayor Víctor Mas Tah clarified that this appointment was created with the purpose of continuing to strengthen the municipality’s security because it is an important issue, to preserve the integrity of tourists and residents of the municipality.
“You always have to look for the best and appoint the people who have the best profile to take care of the safety of this tourist destination,” he added.
He explained that the appointment of Daniel Hernández Gutiérrez is the result of an agreement with state authorities who are in charge of guaranteeing public safety of the municipalities.
