Trio arrested hours after two found dead in Cancun junkyard

Cancun, Q.R. — Three men believed involved in the murder of two were arrested Thursday in Cancun. Authorities have confirmed the arrests of the trio who they believe are responsible for the murder of two men and attempted murder of one woman hours earlier.

According to information provided by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), agents of the Investigative Police and the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) arrested all three from SM 245.

During their arrests, police seized two loaded handguns along with their cell phones, which are now part of their investigation.

The three males were arrested hours after several reports were called in of gunfire on Calle Chetumal in Cancun. Police responding to the 1:00 a.m. reports of shots fired arrived at a scrap metal junkyard where they found the three bodies.

Two men, both reported to be in their mid-20s, were found dead, while a woman identified as 47-year-old Aracely N, was found alive and rushed to hospital in serious condition.

The Prosecutor’s Office reported that Luis “C”, Yosmar “J” and Jonathan “A” were arrested for their alleged involvement in the shootings.
