Trio arrested after robbing Cancun store wielding kitchen knives

Cancun, Q.R. — Members of the Quintana Roo Police have arrested three young people after they received a robbery report in SM 43 of Cancun.

The owner of the small self-serve store was able to provide an accurate description of all three assailants, who he said, entered his shop wielding knives Monday evening. The three then fled, leaving with cash and bottles of alcohol.

La Policía Quintana Roo immediately deployed a search operation that led to the successful discovery of all three, matching the shop owner’s description. A search of their person revealed 19 bottles of unopened alcohol, 235 peso in cash and four knives, all of which had been stashed into backpacks.

Taken into custody were 19-year-old Saul N, 20-year-old Irvin N and 18-year-old Alexander N who will be presented before the Public Prosecutor for the crime of theft.
