Tourist injured on snorkeling expedition

Cozumel, Q.R. – An American tourist has been injured while on a snorkeling expedition along the north end of the island.

The 79-year-old man, who is from Minnesota, suffered propeller injuries to his right arm and legs after getting too close to the rear of the boat. Boat captain Francisco CR said the incident happened around 10:25 in the morning just after the elderly tourist finished snorkeling. He was apparently hovering around the rear of the boat when he suffered minor propeller injuries.

An ambulance was called to transport the man to hospital. The injured, Hugh Solberg, was treated and released within a few hours of admittance.
