Tulum, Q.R. – Visitors to the archaeological ruins in Tulum will soon be able to purchase their entrance tickets automatically.
Since last year, numerous upgrades have been made to the popular tourist attraction by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). Part of these upgrades will soon include two ATM-type machines. Once installed, the machines will allow site visitors to purchase their own tickets which should help visitors purchase their tickets faster while cutting down on long line ups at the regular four box offices.
The installation of the ticket dispensers is the newest addition to the modernizing of the facilities. Late last year, the ruins were outfitted with video surveillance cameras to monitor activity inside and around the site. INAH staff say there is currently no set date for the machines to be put into operation.
