Three left seriously injured in Tulum roadway accident

Tulum, Q.R. — Speed and careless driving are being blamed for an accident that left a taxi driver and two American passengers seriously injured. Emergency personnel arrived at the accident site that happened at 2:00 a.m. along the Tulum-Boca Paila road.

Preliminary reports say one of the vehicles involved, a blue Chevy, attempted to pass the car in front, which was a taxi. Due to speed, the driver of the Chevy, identified as Lucius N, made contact with the front half of the car he was trying to pass, which resulted in it being overturned.

Inside the overturned taxi were three people, the driver, 23-year-old Luis Alfredo N and two passengers, 22-year-old Estefany N from Florida and 28-year-old Kevin N from San Diego, California. All three were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
