Three fishermen rescued 25 nautical miles off Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Three fishermen were returned safely to land after requesting help when the engine on their boat failed, reports the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico.

The navy says that personnel from the Fifth Naval Region rescued three people who were left drifting due to engine failure of their vessel. Elements from the Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station of Isla Mujeres set out in search of the men.

The fishing vessel Ingmar with its crew were located approximately 25 nautical miles from Isla Mujeres. The boat was towed back to the island where medical personnel were waiting to evaluate the three fishermen, who were reported to be in good health.
