Three detained in Tulum with guns, written threat message

Tulum, Q.R. — Police in Tulum say they have arrested three men who were found in possession of loaded weapons and a written threat message. In a press release, police say they attempted to stop a vehicle in the Ejido neighborhood for reckless driving.

Inside the car, Ivan N, Ramiro N and Héctor N fled police, which lead to a chase that ended on Chanchén Street. During an inspection of the car, police located a backpack with two loaded firearms, additional ammo and a written threat message.

All three were taken into police custody for carrying illegal firearms. They say there is a possibility that the trio were hired hitmen.
