Three arrested in Cancun drug bust

Cancun, Q.R. — Members of the Quintana Roo Police arrested three suspected drug dealers who were using Cancun taxis in region 253 of the city.

In an information notice, it was announced that the arrests took place when police elements patrolling Mirlo Street, noticed three people who were surrounding three motorcycles, which were next to taxi 6766 and taxi 4238.

AAuthorities report when they saw the police unit, the three people took an evasive attitude and got into the taxis in order to escape, so they were stopped. When conducting an inspection they were found in posession of 16 ziploc bags containing crack, as well as 30 transparent plastic bags with marijuana.

Two of the motorcycles involved had been reported as stolen. In total, three men were taken into custody who police identified as 69-year-old Ricardo N from Mexico City, 18-year-old Héctor N and 19-year-old Edgar N, both from Guadalajara.
