This delightful animated film is a colorful scenario of Mexican culture in all its fine traditions of Dia de Muertos.
Directed by Jorge Gutierrez, The Book of Life portrays the story of a young bullfighter named Manolo, who sets out on a journey that forces him to decide between the hopes and dreams of his family, or the love of his life. Manolo’s adventure takes him to three amazing world’s where he faces his worst fears.
Animated characters are brought to life by Zoe Saldana, Ron Perlman, Channing Tatum, Ana de la Reguera, Kate del Castillo, Christina Applegate, Diego Luna, Placido Domingo and Ice Cube. The Book of Life is a fun, animated version of one of Mayan culture’s oldest traditions, told by endearing characters in a fantasy environment.
