Temptation Cancun undergoing nostalgic remodeling

Cancun, Q.R. – Temptation Cancun, the first hotel of the Cancun Hotel Zone, is tearing down old walls to rebuild a better hotel.

Temptation Resort founder, Diego de la Peña, says that room, pool and restaurant areas are being torn down and completely remodeled

“We will tear down all the old parts to make a building of eight levels. Everything else will be brand new — new pools, new restaurants, new everything — and hope to have an inauguration in 11 months, but now everything that was Playa Blanca is falling apart.”

The original Playa Blanca had 70 rooms, all of which will be demolished and rebuilt to provide the hotel with a new image and 430 rooms, up from the current 384.

“It saddens me to do it, but it is very old. It is 42 years old so you have to do it again,” he said.

The projected reopening date for Cancun Temptation Resort is August 2017.
