Tamarind pops of heroin bound for England seized

Mexico City, Mexico — A shipment of heroine was interrupted by federal authorities in Mexico City after personnel from the National Guard discovered tainted tamarind pops.

An x-ray of packages at a Mexico City courier company alerted personnel to the possibility of an issue with one package that had irregularities in its content. When they reviewed the content, they discovered 59 tamarind pop (sweet candies) that actually contained heroin.

The shipment, which was leaving Mexico City bound for London, England, was seized by federal authorities and handed over to an agent of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Federation for further inquiries.
