Guadalajara, Jalisco — A thunderstorm that surprised residents of Guadalajara left several streets impassable as hail rained down on the city.
It was just after 1:00 a.m. when strong winds arrived with the severe storm that pounded down on residents of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara. By the time morning arrived, residents of east Guadalajara and the municipality of Tlaquepaque were shocked to find massive hills of hail.
By the time the storm passed, some areas recorded hail piles more than one meter deep, completely blocking roadways and trapping vehicles.
Civil Protection and state fire brigade staff were out clearing streets. No deaths or human injuries were reported, only material damage to vehicles and some homes.
