Sunshine slowly returning to region

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. – Sunshine is slowly returning to many parts of the region including Cancun and Playa del Carmen as the rains and clouds make their way out.

After several days of heavy rain and thunderstorms, most of the Quintana Roo coast will enjoy drier days for the weekend. The National Meteorological Service reports the entry of tropical maritime air with moderate moisture content from the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico to the Yucatan Peninsula. This air will create hot temperatures during the day and at night.

Most of the region can expect a mix of sun and cloud with occasional rain accompanied by isolated showers with occasional thunderstorms on some localities of the state. This June weather forecast for Cancun to Tulum calls for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms during the afternoon and night.

Temperatures for the region will remain hot with east / southeast winds from 15 to 25 km/h with occasional wind gusts of 45 km / hour. Maximum temperatures are 34C to 36C with minimum temperatures of 23C to 25C.

The tropical wave located off the eastern coast of the Yucatan peninsula continues to move west creating clouds and rainfall. However, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, the system is not favorable to evolve into a tropical system but will increase the probability of rainfall as it passes over the Yucatan Peninsula.
