Cancun, Q.R. — More than 350 consumer claims make up Profeco’s blacklist with the Federal Electricity Commission leading the list.
Head of Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor in Chetumal, Zazil Rodriguez Pedraza, says there are more than 350 consumer complaints registered in the state so far this year. She explains that the majority of complaints filed are against companies including gas, cell service providers, cable and electricity.
She says that complaints against the Federal Electricity Commission constitute the most reported with deficiencies in their services. She says that telephone services and gas stations have the most frequent complaints with consumers.
Also, she says, LPG gas companies have received a lot of complaints this year with consumers claiming unfilled tanks. Companies were quick to remedy the problem by offering a new cylinder fill and a discount of up to 50 percent off the next.
Telephone providers, on the other hand, have consumer complaints for breach of equipment warranties and that in favor of the consumer, those companies have been sanctioned. Rodriguez Pedraza commented that the biggest problem is the company not wanting to validate the guarantee of their equipment arguing humidity for its failure.
Topping the list of the most complaints is the Federal Electricity Commission, as the most denounced by the citizens, however, cable companies are a close second when requiring the intervention of Profeco officials.
