SSA México submits second request for Cozumel dock extension

Cozumel, Q.R. — Company SSA México has re-entered an environmental impact statement before the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) to obtain federal authorization for the extension of its dock on the island of Cozumel.

The second environmental impact statement submission came after their initial request was rejected last year due to procedural errors.

The company has submitted their second request for the Cozumel International Cruise Terminal Dock Modernization project to la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (Semarnat). If approved, the project would see an extension of the current docks of the Cozumel International Cruise Terminal in the federal maritime zone, allowing three ships to dock instead of two.

The entire project would cost just over 56 million peso and take 18 months to complete.
