Speed likely cause of Cozumel car crash

Cozumel, Q.R. — High speed is said to be the likely cause of an accident along a Cozumel highway Tuesday that left two without a car.

It was around 7:00 p.m. when the report came that the driver of a car traveling along a roadway managed to hit a lamppost. The car, which suffered extensive damage to the front driver’s side, was a rental vehicle.

Reports say the driver somehow lost control along a straight stretch of roadway, resulting in the vehicle heading over the median and crashing into a light pole.

Emergency personnel arrived at Kilometer 3.5 where the accident happened to tend to those inside the vehicle, however, they were reported to not have suffered any injuries. Firemen also arrived as did the rental car’s insurance company.
