Spain’s specialized passenger police uncover cocaine breast implants

A 43-year old Venezuelan woman has been arrested at Madrid’s international airport. After exhibiting strange behavior during a routine passenger screening, narcotic agents became suspicious.

Arriving from Bogota, Columbia, the woman’s luggage search showed nothing out of the ordinary, however, after a standard frisking by a female officer, it was revealed that both of the Colombian woman’s breasts were irregular and deformed.

Police say that is when the passenger “became nervous and confessed to carrying cocaine implants.” The suspected drug smuggler was transferred to a hospital where they found 1.7 kilos (3.7 pounds) of cocaine hidden in her breast implants. The woman was detained for an alleged crime against public health.

Spain has a specialized police unit that checks passenger arrivals from major known drug-producing countries.
