Solidarity’s Red Cross appoints new coordinator

Playa del Carmen, Mexico – The Red Cross will be changing hands with the promotion of a new administrative coordinator.

Horacio Moreno Trinidad, who has been at the Red Cross for nearly 20 years, will officially become the area’s new administrative coordinator on June 1.

The Red cross has confirmed, “On Monday June 1 the Red cross will have a change of control of administrative coordination by our local authorities of the Mexican Red Cross.”

Teresa Jiménez Rodríguez, president of the volunteer section of the Ladies of the Red Cross, said that Alejandro Villanueva began working at the organization at age 12 as a volunteer of the institution. He later trained as an emergency medical technician, took numerous rescue courses and was part of the ranks of the Red Cross trainers.

“His interest was so great that after studying and passing his medical career at the Red Cross he now works as a general practitioner and the Red Cross is happy to have him here,” she said.

At noon on June 1, the training room facilities based at the Red Cross in Solidarity will hold the official change of command of Horacio Moreno, who has already served the organization for 20 years.

Alejandro Villanueva will take care of the three facilities of the institution: the central unit, the Villas del Sol and Puerto Aventuras, which is not currently operating for lack of funds.
