Seven shot to death in Cancun home

Cancun, Q.R. — During a weekend gathering, seven people were gunned down inside a private home with the state attorney saying no arrests have been made.

Investigative reports say that early Sunday morning in region 219 of Cancun, seven people were killed and two injured by apparent gunfire.

In a statement, the State Attorney General’s Office says they are carrying out the necessary steps for an investigation, noting that municipal public security served as the first respondent, while ministerial authorities arrived later for processing in which 9 mm and 7.62 x 39 calipers were found.

On Sunday morning, a vehicle arrived at a private home around 5:05 a.m. near the junction of the avenues Puerto Juarez and Kabah, opening fire on those inside. Emergency 911 received the report, sending police and ambulance to the scene.

According to witnesses, the gunfire lasted more than a minute with the assailants fleeing in two vehicles. The deceased, who were all young men, were found both inside and outside of the home.
