Sanitary tunnel installed at main dock of Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A sanitary tunnel has been installed on the main dock at the entrance to the island in a bid to continue reinforcing prevention measures against coronavirus.

Municipal head Juan Carrillo Soberanis implemented the installation of the Sanitunel in conjunction with the health sector to directly attack surfaces that are known to transport the virus.

In a statement, the government of Isla Mujeres says that this type of sanitizing is an effective technique that involves walking inside the tunnel to disinfect people and objects in three seconds to control the virus and prevent its spread.

The Sanitunel is an addition to the existing sanitary measures put into place including municipal roadway filters.
