Cancun, Q.R. — The fifth edition of the Riviera Maya Film Festival will be held from April 21 to 27, 2016 in different venues around the city of Playa de Carmen. On May 3, 2016 the RMFF continue its series of screenings in the cities of Puerto Morelos, Tulum, Isla Mujeres and Cancun.
“We are preparing our fifth edition with great dedication and enthusiasm to offer the public a festival of quality and inclusive for all. We want to have the most outstanding film festival in this special space known as the Riviera Maya,” said Paula Chaurand, director of the festival.
Each year, the Riviera Maya becomes a meeting point where different sectors that make up the world of cinema coexist: directors, actors, industry representatives, media and the general public — they all interact for a week a festive and cultural atmosphere around the film.
Free screenings for the public, the presence of prominent personalities, training facilities for young and meetings between industry professionals, will again be the mainstays of the Riviera Maya Film Festival 2016.
Since its inception, the RMFF has been characterized as an event that promotes and disseminates film making through different sections that seek to be a parameter of film making.
In its previous editions, the RMFF has laid the foundation to establish itself as a strong exhibition proposal, already surpassing 81,000 spectators with the screening of over 250 films in 980 free performances that were held in theaters and outdoor spaces in the Riviera Maya.
“We invite the public and visitors to the Riviera Maya to join us in our fifth year,” says Chaurand. “Like every year, we will hope to provide a memorable experience for movie lovers.”
