Cancun, Q.R. – Regional weather for Cancun and the Riviera Maya will continue to see hot days, but afternoons are likely to change to isolated rain showers, sometimes with thunder and lightening.
A trough of low pressure located along the Yucatan Peninsula will continue to deliver warm daytime temperatures combined with cloudiness and isolated rain showers sometimes accompanied by electrical activity.
State Civil Protection says a weak tropical system over the Caribbean Sea is moving west and will bring clouds and rain to the state of Quintana Roo. They also say that there are no conditions for the formation of any tropical depressions.
Civil Protection is forecasting partly cloudy skies with showers and isolated rain for the Benito Juarez / Solidarity regions. The area will experience hot weather, east and northeast wind 15 to 25 kilometers per hour with occasional gusts of 45.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) released a statement saying that the tropical wave over the Yucatan Peninsula is entering from the Caribbean Sea and will bring heavy rains to the region.
For the peninsula, the weekend forecast is clear skies in the morning along with increasing cloudiness toward evening with an increasing chance of heavy rain in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain warm in the morning and evening, but hot during the day with an average of 29C.
