Quintana Roo ranks fifth for government transparency

Chetumal, Q.R. — Quintana Roo has been listed in fifth place nationally for government spending transparency. The secretary of finance made the report Friday, noting that on the Information Quality Index (ICI), the state ranked fifth.

Yohanet Torres Muñoz, Secretary of Finance and Planning (SEFIPLAN) said that “Within the framework of the Transferred Federal Resources System and the publication of the results of the Information Quality Index corresponding to the first quarter of 2020, Quintana Roo was placed in position 5 of the ICI with a rating of 98.98 points,” adding that “in the last quarter of 2019, it was in 7th place.”

The importance of the Índice de Calidad de la Información (ICI) before the Ministry of Finance reveals that federal resources are being exercised with transparency, which allows greater management of extraordinary resources and strengthens the mechanisms to combat corruption, reported Torres Muñoz.

This score reflects the results achieved in each of the components of the index, where project management reached position four, which is an advancement of three positions in relation to the fourth quarter of 2019, while in the consistency of transferred resources, it ranked first with a score of 100 percent.

“These results in the indicators that measure transparency and quality of information demonstrate the commitment and work of Governor Carlos Joaquín to fight corruption and strengthen accountability,” she added.
